Banning Duck hunting in Chitral

Discuss October 26, 2016 admaster 6

Deputy Commissioner Chitral has imposed section 144 on Duck hunting and construction of artificial lakes on river banks which are used to lure in migratory ducks through decoys etc. Some people argue that since hunting is allowed in Islam as a source of food for survival if carried out with simple and primitive hunting weapons, it should not be banned.

Do you approve of the decision by DC Chitral banning duck hunting across the valley?

Being as an environmentalist, I highly approve and appreciate this decision,
Such a good gesture by DC Chitral. It’s really a great initiative for all the potential stakeholders (local and international NGOs) and environmentalists like me working hard for the cause of environment and wildlife conservation as every year huge number of migratory ducks are brutally killed by hunters.
    Thank you!!

I think it will prove to be a good decision, especially in view of wildlife conservation. At this point, some may oppose the DC’s initiative but sooner or later they will realize it was a much needed step.

As far as DC Chitral’s this decision is concerned, I’d have a consent over this. As duck in this region carry unique qualities and are getting skanty just because of the repeated yearly hunting by making lakes.
We need to preserve the species of all indigenous animals in this beautiful region.

    It’s a correct initiative, yes!

Good decision .. but i think duck hunting is ok as long the hunters give the ducks a few years to breed.

A great step, we really appreciate and encourage our legislators to enact wildlife protection laws and even acting according to our moral responsibilities regarding nature.
Balance is a rule of nature. So, the delicate balance of ecosystem ensures their survival- if they are left uninterrupted.
Killing birds is always distructive, which will result in tragic deseases.
Building artificial lakes, on one side destroy river beds and on other side many people have lost their lives while hunting. People get in a stupid competition and sometimes it results in fighting each other.

We must care individually about ecosystem and also help and encourage such decisions by legislators.
And i suggest to have “No Hunting” signs on government and on private properties.

A real display of the Govt.’ s writ, these kind of initiatives are much beyond the capacities and determination of elected representatives who care more of their vote bank than great initiatives like this which can produce result in the long run.
